The race to fitness is on and a lot of people are getting into the band wagon. Some people do it to achieve a sexy body, some people just do it because they are embarrassed with the body they have now, while others do it simply to remain fit and healthy. As such, many fitness programs are out in the internet, in gyms, spas and fitness centers all over. Some are too expensive to afford that one may even lose weight just by trying to work out the money needed to pursue these fitness programs.

One may not have to go to the gym or the spa or any fitness center and spend much just to slim down to obtain that longed for sexy body. There are many books available in the bookstore which offer weight loss programs which are convenient and for free, of course the books are not though. These weight loss programs, or diet plans are gaining immense popularity with so much publicity, testimonials and reviews that one may be confused which exactly to follow. So before choosing which weight loss plan to follow, try reading these summaries about the most popular diet programs out today.

Atkins’ New Diet Revolution by Dr. Atkins. This weight loss program encourages high protein diet and a trim down on the carbs. One can feast on vegetables and meat but should fast on bread and pasta. One is also not restricted against fat intake so it is okay to pour in the salad dressing and freely spread on the butter. However, after the diet, one may find himself lacking on fiber and calcium yet high in fat. Intake of grains and fruits are also limited.

Carbohydrate Addict’s Diet by Drs. Heller. This diet plan advocates low carbohyrate eating. Approves on eating meats, vegetables and fruits, dairy and grain products. however, warns against taking in too much carb. "Reward" meal can be too high on fats and saturated fats.

Choose to Lose by Dr. Goor. Restrains fat intake. One is given a "fat" budget and he is given the liberty on how to spend it. It does not pressure the individual to watch his carbohydrate intake. Eating meat and poultry as well as low-fat dairy and seafoods is okay. A go signal is also given on eating vegetables, fruits, cereals, bread and pasta. This weight loss plan is fairly healthy, good amounts of fruits and vegetables as well as saturated fats. Watch triglyceride levels though; if high, trim down the carbohydrates and tuck in more of the unsaturated fats.

The DASH Diet. Advocates moderate amounts of fat and protein intake and high on carbs. Primarily designed to lower blood pressure, the diet plan follows the pyramid food guide and encourages high intake of whole wheat grains as well as fruits and vegetables and low-fat dairy. Some dieters think it advocates too much eating to procure significant weight loss.

Eat More, Weigh Less by Dr. Ornish. Primarily vegetarian fare and strictly low-fat. Gives the go signal on the "glow" foods but warns to watch it on non-fat dairy and egg whites. This diet is poor in calcium and retricts consumption of healthy foods like seafoods and lean poultry.

Eat Right for Your Type. Interesting because it is based on the person’s blood type. recommends plenty of mest for people with the blood type O. Diet plans for some blood types are nutritionally imbalanced and too low in calories. And for the record, there is even no proof that blood type affects dietary needs.

The Pritkin Principle. Focused on trimming the calorie density in eating by suggesting watery foods that make one feel full. Eating vegetables, fruits, oatmeal, pasta, soups, salads and low-fat dairy is okay. Although limits protein sources to lean meat, pseafood and poultry. Although it is healthy by providing low amounts of saturated fats and rich amounts of vegetables and fruits, it is also low on calcium and limits lean protein sources.

Volumetrics. For low-density calorie eating. Recommends the same foodstuff as Pritkin but restricts fatty or dry foods like popcorn, pretzels and crackers. This plan is reasonably healthy given the high amounts of fruits and vegetables as well as being low in calorie density and saturated fats.

The Zone. Moderately low on the carbs yet moderately high on the proteins. Encourages low-fat protein foods like fish and chicken plus veggies, fruits and grains. It is also healthy but lacking in grains and calcium.

Weight Watchers. High carbohydrates, moderate on fats and proteins. A very healthy diet plan and very flexible too. it allows the dieter to plan his own meal rather than give him a set to follow.

Most Important is Confusing Weight Loss With Fat Loss!

May 15th, 2010 -- Posted in loss weight diets | 6 Comments »

If anyone tells you can lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks or other outrageous claims, you need to be very careful. Most of those people who lose so much weight gain it back as fast as they had lost them. The truth is it is very easy to lose so much weight by just draining out the water weight of the body. Thus it is common to find people getting back all the weight once they are off their crash diets.

Any weight loss program that is in the right direction will focus on fat loss and not in just losing weight. It is the necessary to burn the fat that stays accumulated in your body in areas like stomach, thighs, back, abdomen etc. As long as your focus is only on losing weight, you will keep tumbling from one program or diet to another and at each time gaining back all the weight that you had lost.

Losing water weight is very easy. Athletes and body builders do it all the time before any competition to qualify for their weight category. It is important not to confuse weight loss with fat loss. For more details you can visit at www.auto-cons.com. A proper weight loss program should be aimed at increasing your body’s metabolism, which is the rate at which the body burns the calories and fat consumed. Instead of crash dieting and trying any of those good for nothing supplements, the prime focus should be on increasing your body’s metabolism.

When you go on a starvation diet, your body slows down its metabolism to conserve the fat and energy. For optimum fat loss, you must burn more calories than you consume. It is necessary to eat the right kind of food that boosts the body’s metabolism. Each person has a different metabolic system. You can also visit at www.answer-service.com. It is necessary to understand your metabolism type and accordingly choose a diet that will make your system burn those calories fast.

Other reasons like stress, lack of sleep, improper eating habits or starvation diets, presence of toxins and parasites in the body can greatly reduce your metabolism rate. It is no use losing 20 pounds in 2 weeks if you did not lose any fat. The right program for weight loss should help you with a clear blueprint to boost your metabolism so that you can become a fat burning machine and help you achieve the sexy, slim and healthy body of your dreams.

Choose the Weight Loss Diet Plan That Works for You

May 5th, 2010 -- Posted in loss weight diets | 3 Comments »

Each person is unique. We look different, we think differently, we have different personalities and most importantly our metabolism and our body response system is different from one person to the next. When it comes to weight loss, important factors must be taken into consideration. A weight loss diet plan must be conceived to match the unique features of our body and metabolism. However, one thing is certain, we all needs vitamins, whether they are included in our weight loss diet or in our daily meals.

A weight loss plan must be made according to how our body reacts to exercise, light meals or weight loss products. Most people believe that working out and eating less is the best method to lose weight, but unfortunately this is not entirely true. In fact, working out makes you beefy because fat is replaced by muscles, so your aspect does not change dramatically and eating light can lead to serious health problems. Lack of vitamins, stress produced by on-going work-outs, meals that do not satisfy your appetite do not make a good weight loss plan.

Although diet products are considered unhealthy by the general population, they are in fact much better than other diet plans. These diet products contain all necessary ingredients for you to stay healthy and reach the ideal weight. Moreover, a weight loss plan that includes diet products is cheaper than other diets. Many diet products have discount prices.

As has been said before, people can respond differently to diet products. What works for you might not be as good for your friend. For this reason alone you should try out more products and find out what products are perfect for you. However, this would mean a lot of money spent on useless products, unless you buy from companies that offer discounts and free products. Rather than spending a lot of money on diet products that might not work for you, you can receive free products and vitamins, or buy them for less money. Once you have found the diet products that work for you, offers will still be available, if you know where to shop.

You can create your own weight loss diet plan or you can talk to a specialist. Whatever choice you make, be sure to choose only natural products. Whether you want to diminish your appetite, want to lose weight fast or take plenty of vitamins, you should be very careful where you buy the products from. The companies that are trustworthy usually have a wide range of products, from diet products to vitamins, for both men and women, they have people to assist you with your decision making and offer free products for testing.

Your health is the most important thing in the world. Looking good and having the perfect body should not interfere with your health. If you choose an adequate weight loss diet plan and take plenty of vitamins, you will look perfect without endangering your health. Good diet products and vitamins, together with a thorough weight loss plan are the key to looking great.

Proven Weight Loss Diets – What’s Healthy and What’s not

April 29th, 2010 -- Posted in loss weight diets | No Comments »

If you are in the market looking for a proven weight loss diets, you will likely come across several that claim their product will reveal the results you desire. The more you look into the different products you might even begin to realize not too much is similar, so how do they work?

Fad diets might work wonders for you, however they are generally not going give you long term results. These diets are designed to show results quickly generally be depriving your body of essential nutrients.

These diets will eventually end up causing you more harm than good. Once your body is allowed to have the necessary vitamins, minerals and nutrition it will store it for later use instead of burning it. The causes excessive weight gain in a short period of time.

Fasting diets can be beneficial to the body in moderation. However, it is not health for a person to fast for too many consecutive days. This method triggers the body to into what is often referred to as survival mode.

Survival mode causes the body to store all food for energy later because it does not know when it will be getting the nutrition it needs again. This can lead to more weight being gained than what is going to be lost after the diet has ended and food has been reinstated.

The diets that really work are those that control the calorie intake per day and include a healthy level of exercising. You should incorporate more water into your daily beverage routine and slowly increase the exercise regimen.

To successfully lose weight in a healthy and steady manner you should burn more calories a day than you consume. This will force the body into burning fat to maintain the energy you need to continue the day.

You should also be sure the diet you choose allows you to eat at least 3 meals a day. You should never skip a meal on a diet because this is another trigger for survival mode. Depriving your body of food is not recommended for healthy weight loss, instead try incorporating more healthy foods and less processed foods, lower salt and sugar content.

There are many proven weight loss diets that you will come across, however not all of them are actually healthy or beneficial to your overall health and well being. Many will cause more harm than good.

Fast Weight Loss – Hip or Hype?

April 27th, 2010 -- Posted in loss weight diets | 6 Comments »

Studies show that over half of the USA is overweight and that number continues to climb annually. Are you one of these people looking for to lose weight fast?

No doubt we all want to lose the weight fast, but can it really happen? After all, it took several months or years to pack on those jiggly-wiggly pounds didn’t it? How quickly can you realistically expect to lose it?

Let’s take a look at some of the steps you’ll need to take to shed those extra pounds.

The first thing you should do is check with your doctor to see if the quick weight loss plan your considering is going to be safe for you to do. Most doctors and healthcare professionals still advocate the slow, steady weight loss methods and consider them safe. So, don’t be surprised when your doctor is resistant to your new fast weight loss plan. A good doctor will run some tests on you to do a quick check to make sure you’re physically capable of the chosen weight loss plan. If not, then you’ll need to consider other options.

Fad diets continue to sweep the world and have been for decades with no end in sight. Some of these speed weight loss programs work great for some people, but not for others. Some popular fad diets focus on high protein intake and very low carbohydrate intake such as the Atkins diet. Others focus on particular so called power foods, such as the cabbage soup diet. The focus of some of these power food diets is to consume food that takes more calories to metabolize than what is in the food itself.

Another method would be to use some type of diet pill. Over the counter diet pills may be the fastest way to lose weight, however your doctor may have a prescription diet pill that will be safer in the long run. Both types of pill typically have reported mild to serious side effects and some can even kill you if you’re in poor health. Any time you decide to take a pill to help you achieve your weight loss goals it’s always best to consult with your doctor prior to taking the first pill.

Surgery is always an option if all other methods have failed you. Liposuction and gastrointestinal surgeries are the more popular ones, yet these techniques are usually intended for those people who have exhausted all other weight loss means. These people have tried the fad diets, diet pill and power food diets with minimal results and for some, no results at all.

Maintaining a healthy weight is very beneficial to your overall health and possibly even your longevity. So, the most important thing you can do is to take action and begin your chosen weight loss program because your life may depend on it!

Calotren™ Weight Loss

April 11th, 2010 -- Posted in loss weight diets | 2 Comments »

When purchasing any weight loss product, it is important to do your research. Many people are exchanging their opinions about Calotren on DietBlogTalk.com

For an additional source, check out Calotren on the very popular Sensational.com

Overview

Calotren™ is a protein supplement designed to eliminate the need for stimulants by focusing on nutrition. Protein is a necessary nutrient for a normal functioning body. High protein diets are often linked to weight loss because of its ability to burn quickly as energy as opposed to being stored as fat. Calotren™ claims to be an all natural weight loss supplement that doesn’t contain stimulants, appetite suppressants, and causes no side effects. The makers of this product claim that it allegedly sustains muscle mass, supports joint strength, provides energy, and facilitates weight loss. Interestingly, according to the makers of Calotren™,  most people who experience energy from this product are underweight or active.

Ingredients at a Glance

According to the manufacturer of Calotren™ the main ingredient is their protein formula, otherwise known as Collagen, Oxygenated Water, Aloe Vera, Glycerin, Potassium Sorbate, Natural Raspberry Flavoring, and Methyl Paraben.

Ingredients in Focus

Collagen is a protein that has often been linked to cosmetic benefits. Recently, the diet industry has argued that it has powerful weight loss potential, though this is not a proven fact. In addition, it may preserve lean muscle mass and provide energy. More successful and better known protein supplementing, however, has been linked to the use of other types of protein. Soy protein has been linked to weight loss. Whey protein has been linked to muscle development and weight loss. Aloe Vera has been linked to good skin health. While this is not a skin treatment formula the idea is that smooth and toned skin should accompany weight loss. The other ingredients—Glycerin, Oxygenated Water, Glycerin, Potassium Sorbate, Natural Raspberry Flavoring, and Methyl Paraben—are for flavoring, texture, and taste.

Positives

•    There are no stimulants in Calotren™.

Negatives

•    Collagen is unproven as a weight loss supplement.
•    This product must be taken on an empty stomach; no food must be consumed within three hours of taking this product.
•    Calotren™ costs about $75 per 30 day supply.

Final Thoughts

The makers of Calotren™ have tried to create an effective weight loss supplement without stimulants. Several success stories from individuals using their product have been provided. They also indicate that their product is not intended to replace diet and exercise, but exercise and diet will enhance the effectiveness of the product. However, there is still no clinical evidence that Collagen is an effective weight loss supplement. Collagen use has proved successful in other areas such as beauty and cosmetics, but as far as weight loss, the necessary properties to facilitate weight loss are just not there.  Look instead for a supplement that uses ingredients to burn fat and control the appetite and you’ll be much further ahead.

Fat Loss 4 Idiots – More to Weight Loss Than You Thought?

April 9th, 2010 -- Posted in loss weight diets | 1 Comment »

Are you one of millions who is looking for ways to lose weight and keep it off for good? If so, you are not alone, every day there are thousands of diet products sold. The problem is very few people are losing weight and then maintaining that weight loss. Could there be other factors at play that make it difficult, if not impossible, for you to lose weight?

Sleep

Are you surprised that sleep is on the list of possible reasons why fat loss diets are not working for you? Most people do not realize how vital a good night’s rest is to overall health and in fact weight loss. Studies are now being done to determine exactly why weight loss is affected by lack of sleep. Some studies show that lack of sleep affects your metabolism, this is the mechanism that determines how many calories you burn and at what rate. In addition to this, sleep affects the amount of cortisol released; this is the hormone that regulates appetite.

Few would argue with the fact that when you are not properly rested, you get cranky and even depressed. Depression can lead to overeating and that in turn leads to weight gain not weight loss! Researchers agree that the average human should get at least eight hours of sleep per night and this on a regular schedule. Try to go to bed around the same time each night to put your body on schedule. This will alleviate stress and balance your metabolism.

Stress

When you are extremely stressed, the body manufactures cortisol. Cortisol is the hormone that regulates appetite, over production causes overeating and weight gain around the midsection. If you are noticing, an increase in fat stores around your abdomen cortisol could be the culprit.

Find some relaxation techniques that work for you. Meditation is a good place to start, as is exercise and a long soak in the tub. Do whatever it takes for you to feel more at ease and reduce stress.

Medical Issues

You have probably heard someone say that his or her weight gain is a result of a thyroid problem. You may have even chuckled a bit because the term has become somewhat of a joke over the years. However, you should never discount the possibility; there are a number of symptoms and risks you should consider.

1) Radiation exposure
2) Family history of thyroid disorder
3) Family history of autoimmune disorder
4) Fatigue
5) Fast weight gain or an inability to lose weight
6) Memory loss

This is but a sample of 33 distinct symptoms and risk factors is you have any of the above you should have your thyroid evaluated. In fact, the first thing you should do when trying to lose weight is see your doctor.

Plateau

This is a place many people are familiar with; you have done everything right and lost some weight. Then all of a sudden no matter how hard you try you cannot lose another ounce. You have hit a plateau. This can occur for many reasons, you have dropped your caloric intake to low or you are exercising too much in response to both of these the body will slow your metabolism so that you do not burn as many calories.

If you have hit a plateau, you can take various steps to overcome it. Below are a few weight loss tips:

1) Keep your caloric intake just below maintenance this will prevent the metabolic slow down
2) Change your exercise routine, do not allow the body to get used to one set routine
3) Increase lean muscle mass, lean muscle burns more calories than fat.

Conclusion

Cover all your bases before you decide that you will never be able to lose weight. Cut yourself some slack and explore some of these possible conditions. You could be on your way to significant weight loss in no time.

Online Weight Loss Programs – Weight Loss Made Easy

April 3rd, 2010 -- Posted in loss weight diets | 1 Comment »

Losing some weight doesn’t have to be painful or time consuming. An online weight loss program may fit your needs perfectly and make this experience a delightful one!

Relatively New

Online weight loss programs are relatively new in the overall scope of diet plans. Since the proliferation of the Internet into just about every corner of the world, online diets have been tailored to include those who do not have access to the amenities of living in a populated area or schedules are so busy that they need something that can be implemented at home. You may find that an online diet is what is needed to fit into your busy schedule but you would like to know what to look for in an online weight loss program.

What’s Out There

There is a lot to choose from. You could easily be confused and become discouraged before you even start. But it is really simple if you remember you are looking for an online weight loss program to fit your individual needs. Your gender, age, overall health, and weight loss goals should all be factored into the hunt. Write these down and keep them handy. All quality diets balance eating habits with proper exercise as part of their regimes. The ratio between these two varies between plans. Most younger dieters lean towards more exercise and older dieters favor healthy eating habits. Both are needed but the ratio between the two can be customized for your own needs. Look for the plan that fits you. If you are a middle aged man looking to lose some belly fat, a “bikini abs” diet plan would not be the best choice. The reverse is true if you are a young woman, you wouldn’t be interested in a plan that focuses on getting rid of a beer belly! These are extreme examples but you get the point, right?

Why They Work

The foundation of any diet is to get you to burn more calories than you take in. This is done in various ways. Increasing your metabolism so you burn more calories daily is done by getting involved in being more active and exercising. Even low impact exercises such as walking or riding a bicycle will tone and build muscle including your heart muscle. Muscle burns fat, even when you sleep! Working the other side of the equation is eating healthy. Learning how to eat, when to eat and what to eat will help to manage your calorie intake at the proper levels and give you the energy for you daily activities. If done right you will never have to starve yourself and eating will be enjoyable. Once you gain control of your calories the fat will come off and you will tone and build muscle there by raising your metabolism and becoming a fat burning machine!

What They Won’t Do

An online weight loss program will not do the work for you. You will need to take action. You will need to implement the plan daily and stick to it. Difficult at first, yes but as you continue things will get easier and become second nature to you. Once you reach your weight loss goals you will need to make sure you don’t fall back into your old fat collecting habits. Remember that maintaining the new you will be a lot easier than having to lose the regained weight all over again!

Conclusion:

Online weight loss programs have helped thousands to gain control of their weight. The right one for you will accomplish the same. To benefit from any online plan you will need to take action and continue a maintenance plan once you successfully reach your desired weight. The tools are out there and you will succeed. The first step is the hardest, every one after that gets easier and easier.
